A little history first.... Christmas Day was spent talking to family and friends in Australia telling them that there was to be an addition to the clan in 2007 - i.e. Kathryn is pregnant. All in all, an interesting experience. We hadn't known for long and it had taken a little time for us to get used to the idea and the changes were already underway. Kathryn had started the all-day morning sickness routine and Cameron was now on kitchen-duty. We'd seen the doctor a few weeks earlier and all was looking okay. So, moving on two weeks and we've been back to the doctor's today and got to see another ultrasound (including seeing the heart beating away - less than the size of a pin-head, badoomp, badoomp, badoomp.....) - amazing! Kathryn's suffering with the morning sickness and hoping that it all finishes at the end of the first trimester (4 weeks time). Another thing we learnt today is that the concept of 'Antenatal classes' is foreign here (traditionally, the husband isn't allowed in the labour ward - but this is dependant upon the hospital, so we've got a little shopping around to do). So, everything is well - mum and bubs are doing fine and dad is 'in da house!'. To all our family, friends and colleagues around the world who have given their best wishes, love and support - thank you from the three of us.
