As you may well by now, when we McKays decide to do something - we go all out.
Let me explain.......
A few months ago, Cameron & I toyed with the idea of going to Germany for Christmas, then we decided if we went we would go early December and spend Christmas in Dubai. However after we got home from Australia in October, we decided we would not go at all. Sad as the decision was, we decided it was for the best for numerous reasons, not only financial but practical.
National Day (our Australia Day equivalent) in the UAE means about 3 days off which happens to fall on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December. Cameron asked his boss wether he would be able to take the Wednesday and Thursday off work, which would mean he would have 8 days in total off work. His boss said yes, so he rang me at about 6:30pm last night and said "Wanna go to Germany on Tuesday???" I said "HUH?????" He said that he had 8 days off and as a bonus it turned out we had enough frequent flyer points for all 3 of us to fly to Munich and back for nothing, saving a FORTUNE! I said "Absolutely - lets go!"
When he got home from work, we sat down and jotted down a brief itinerary of where to stay so we could book accomodation (go www. lastminute.com). We still were not getting our hopes up in case something fell through but we were both VERY excited!
This next morning I get a text message from Cameron saying "flights and accomodation all booked - start packing!" I didn't need to be told twice!
